REQUIREMENTS

General Admission

1. Must be at least 16 years old at the time of enrollment and 17 years old at the time of application for the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology licensing exam.

2. Must have a valid State or Government-issued photo ID.

3. Must have a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

4. Able to provide documentation on one of the following educational qualifications:

a. A high school diploma or equivalent, or a transcript showing high school completion.

b. A GED certificate.

c. Proof of home school completion. NOTE: Verification of a foreign high school diploma, translated into English and evaluated for U.S. equivalency by a qualified agency (students are responsible for obtaining the translation and evaluation).
